synopsis for the southern california coast and santa barbara channel including the channel islands national marine sanctuary and national park...at 21z, or 2 pm pdt, a 1033 mb surface high was centered 400 nm west of portland, oregon and extending to a 1028 mb ridge in western Montana. A 1006 mb surface low was located over southeastern california and extending to northwest across the southern california mountains. Winds will slowly diminish across the northern and outer coastal waters tonight.
